I have loved this library, since I was a child. Great african-american, history, and childrens and graphic art collections. The new downstairs addition w/ art collection and grand staircase make me feel lk a princess again☺

I love this library. When compared to the Downtown Branch of the Seattle Public Library, Douglass-Truth feels more like home, much cleaner, and it is quite a bit smaller. The small size made locating books much easier because instead of being ten stories, this library has only two. In addition, the seats are padded instead of hard, which makes reading a book much more pleasant and comfortable.

come for the african american collection, stay for the historic building with beautiful renovations. this branch is one of my favorite in the SPL system. black community organizers fought to keep this branch up and running, and their love & dedication shows. fully wheelchair accessible (including entrances, restrooms, and seating), plus an indoor and outdoor bookdrop. free, unlimited wifi that you can use without having to ask for a password. a lively, kid-friendly branch!

The cpu & keyboard ain't changed in 10 years. You can't even hook your earphones or usb up to the cpu. There's no room to hardly do anything. No wonder the kids are out hanging in streets? Seattle Public Library never updates they software.

The building that houses this library is unique to the neighborhood. This location is completely different that the downtown library, but they have a decent selection of books to choose from. I choose this library for the study area downstairs - it is usually quiet during daytime hours. The respect that staff have for patron privacy is astonishing. Tiny pinhole recording devices inside the bathroom here.
