I've enjoyed having the team from DIY Kitchens and Baths into our home. Prior to these guys we've had some less than great experiences with a variety of contractors--the classic disappearing act and general lack of communication, missed appointments, hidden upcharges, etc etc. thankfully this was not the case with DIY. We had a truly wonderful experience with DIY Kitchens! When I called DIY to come out for a quote, they really understood our vision and parameters and made us feel completely comfortable with the project. Having bad experiences with contractors before and being older people, we did have some reservations about being upcharged or taken advantage of. DIY Kitchens and Baths completely quelled any hesitations we had. They were completely on board to do my remodeling on a budget. The best part about my experience with DIY is that we not only stayed on budget, but our kitchen looks like a chef kitchen. Frank the manager, was truly a rockstar. We were not staying at our house for the duration of the work, but Frank constantly stayed in contact and was always honest about what was going on with the work, timeline, etc. Almost every job naturally has a few hiccups, but Frank always had options to work around them and to make sure that we were 100% happy with the results. He was always available by text or call whenever I had questions, and he was extremely patient with my endless questions. For a quick example of how nice Frank is, we had a very small amount of 2 walls that needed to be painted. Twice the paint store gave me the wrong color, which Frank realized when it went up on the wall. I didn't think I'd have time to figure out what the issue was (whether I gave the paint store the wrong color, if they mixed it wrong, etc), so I told Frank not to worry about it, and I could paint it on my own later on. When all the work was just about done, Frank called me and said he just couldn't leave the paint like that because he wanted to make sure they took care of every last detail. They did repaint the walls the correct color, which was a minor thing but really shows how diligent and great Frank is. Tony also did incredible work. There are so many little things that don't jump out at you right away, but when you do notice them, it's truly a testament to how diligent these guys are. For example, I was really impressed that they tiled pretty far up behind my corner cabinets, that probably nobody would even notice unless you purposely looked up under there. It really goes to show that they don't cut any corners. From a coordination standpoint, Pasha was always available to answer my questions and was extremely helpful in giving me information just about anything. I really appreciated that guidance. Overall, I would highly recommend DIY Kitchens and Baths for any remodeling projects. I am beyond thrilled with the result, and can't thank them enough for all of their hard work!

We contracted with DIY in July 2017 to remodel our kitchen. Pasha seemed wonderful until the work started and then delay after delay and excuse after excuse resulted in us firing DIY in October 2017, with an unfinished kitchen. We had paid the full $29,500 already and work was not complete. To date, I am still missing glass doors for our island and glass doors for an upper cabinet. They screwed up our sink, giving us a stainless steel farm sink when we ordered a white traditional farm sink. Pasha asked me to order the replacement sink because I had Amazon Prime and got free shipping. That was an additional $905. They sent the wrong cabinet and drawer pulls, so I had to order the correct ones out of pocket at a cost of $331. Plus, we used our own tile we bought elsewhere for our backsplash and Pasha put in the contract we would get refunded that money plus a 20% rebate for the cost of the tile as it was far less expensive than the options DIY had and were built into the estimate. I had to hire Carlos, the subcontractor working for DIY myself to finish the work at a cost of $390. That was $1616 on top of the $29,500 we paid in full already. I have not been reimbursed for any of these added expenses and have an unfinished project as I am missing glass doors and shelves for two cabinets! In addition to all of that, there are unused materials, including the stainless sink, a base and upper cabinet and several boxes of wood flooring still in my garage from August. I can't park my car in my own garage as I have been trying to do the right thing and hold onto this stuff for DIY to remove from my property. I have filed a lawsuit with DIY, but their registered agent (Beltway Kitchen and Baths) address is no longer good and their Virginia SCC record is fee delinquent. The suit can be found in Fairfax General District Court, case number GV18001220-00. Do not do business with these people.

We hired Frank and his crew to do a complete studs-out kitchen remodel. Couple days after our initial meeting Frank came up with a kitchen design that turned out to be fantastic. Removed two walls, complete new lay out, a complete open concept. Frank and DIY made the entire process very easy and seamless for us. We decided to have the remodel done while we were traveling overseas, not without some hesitation. A contractor friend of mine told me we were crazy to have the job going when we were not there to check on it, but we decided to take a chance. As it turned out, it worked out great--Frank kept the job moving along and sent us pictures of the progress, and we returned to an almost-finished kitchen. The quality of the work and attention to detail was excellent. The team was conscientious about confirming the details with us before each portion of the job, making sure that each decision was agreed upon, and were clearly careful in their work. Frank's crew and subcontractors (electrician) were friendly and pleasant to have in our home. We decided last-minute to refinish all the floors in the house during the project, and asked Frank if he could book movers as we were overseas. Rather than hire movers Frank's crew packed up our entire house themselves, moved it to the garage, then moved it back (just in time for our return!). I thought for sure something would get broken but everything made it back upstairs in perfect condition. They even set out my son's toys for him to find when we got home--which was much appreciated by a jet-lagged preschooler. It was a small thing but showed the care and respect the crew have for their clients. I would not hesitate to use Frank and DIY Kitchens again or to recommend them to anyone.

Frank at DIY Kitchens and Baths was very easy to work with. His granite looks amazing and his contractors were very professional. My wife and I are very pleased with the results, and the process was stress free and very fast. I submitted a contact request through his website on Sunday night. Monday morning he called and said he could come out that night and give an estimate. Monday night he had taken measurements and had given me the quote. Wednesday I decided to go with his company and he said Friday would be the install. Friday the contractors installed the granite countertops. Saturday the plumber hooked up the sink and dishwasher. The whole process took less than a week, and if I decided sooner it would have been 4 days. The quickness of the turn around was very impressive and the price was awesome! If you are looking for quality granite countertops, awesome prices, and quick turnaround, then call Frank at DIY Kichens and Baths. The only thing that went wrong on this project was the measurements of the countertop. The bottom cabinetry edge is exposed about 1/8 of an inch at the end of countertop. I think he measured from the top edge which was a little shorter in length than the bottom edge. This was a small oversight, and we are just going to paint over the exposed part and it won't be noticeable. Also his contractors scratched my hardwood floor when moving the stove. They offered to send men out to fix, but we didn't take them up on it. My review is 5 stars because of the speed, quality of the granite, and the friendliness of Frank.

We chose DIY Kitchens and Baths because of excellent reviews on Angie's List and Houzz and were not disappointed. The job was a remodel of a 3rd floor bathroom in a Arlington Va house with some constraints. The DIY team worked with us throughout, helping us to make and revise decisions as necessary. The workers were all prompt, pleasant and professional. The result is very beautiful and totally functional. We love our new bathroom and would strongly recommend this company for any remodeling jobs you might have.
