  Decent shop, middling selection, prices a bit higher than some of the other shops but workable because of location. Worst parking lot in the world.

  This place has done it's homework. They are one of, if not the best home improvement/builders yard in the city right now. Stay away from Lowe's if you are looking for any advice and go here the people who work here are not only knowledgeable but are also out to help anyone who crosses their threshold. They have active people working in every department who know their stuff. don't be afraid to ask and you will be greeted with professional and thorough answers. Their parking lot is kind of small so beware if you aren't the most adept at parking. They stock pretty much everything you might need to get that project up and running. Excellent staff!!!

  If you live in SF, there's no reason ever to tolerate the disorder, poor quality, and worse customer service at Lowes or Home Depot. For small items, find your best local Cole's, Fox, or - best of all - Cliff's. For lumber, plumbing, and other more sizable projects, go to Discount Builders. Don't expect immediate personalized service when they're crowded. But if you're patient or go at off peak times, you'll be rewarded with excellent service and great merchandise. Several times I've gone in with a specific solution in mind, and the staff reworked my entire project to save me money and make my project work better.
