  Small hardware store in the heart of Harvard Square. Despite its size, they seem to carry everything you could want. Helpful, professional staff. Pricey, but that's true of everything else in Boston. No parking, of course, in Harvard Square, but conveniently located around the corner from the MBTA "red line" Harvard Square subway station.

  Dickson Brothers has a terrific range of products and for years has been my go-to in Cambridge when I've needed hardware or household supplies. I've found the associates working in the store to be helpful and friendly, always willing to answer my question and steer me in the right direction if for some reason they can't help. Some examples of things I've bought there include outdoor twine, light bulbs, copies of keys (made on sight), plastic food storage bins, batteries, drinking glasses, Ball glass jars, poster board, and a lighter torch.

  The paint guy is a saint!! Give him a huge raise...or some paid time off. He made a bad situation re: odd paint color at a ghetto apt, tolerable. He was wicked pissa! 😄

  Efficient, friendly, helpful, as hip as you can make a hardware store. The inventory and lay-out are remarkably well thought out .
