  I have a membership and go at least 4xs a week when I'm sidelined from running. You are in and out in less than an hour and burn at least 500 calories. It's always clean and streamlined.

  CycleBar is a cheap imitation of SoulCycle but if you live in the building I guess it's convenient. Haley is great, but themusic in some of the other classes isn't curated to the pace or for the right variation of intensity for a spin class. The bikes were custom made for this studio, but not well designed - be careful not to bruise your hand on the spikey adjustment knobs (which are normally rounded). The "Bar" in CycleBar is a long weight bar that lays across the bike handles during your workout; other studios keep these under your seat where they are out of the way. You will hit your forearms on these during any upper body exercises in third position so it seems to me like this choice was more trouble than it was worth since it required custom design of the bike and takes up too much space in the rows between bikes. The studio hasn't done enough keep the locker room clean through winter weather; there is dirty salt inside the lockers and on the benches from people's feet. There is not coat rack so you'll have to stuff your big winter coat into a locker with your shoes. CycleBar is a franchise and and the Columbia Pike has terrible customer service. I recommend the Falls Church location instead of this one.

  I’ve never thought of myself as someone who would enjoy a class-based workout but I must say, CycleBar has been an extremely rewarding experience! I’ve never felt more successful and seen better results than this! The instructors here are super friendly and make an effort to learn your name and support you in any way they can! At first I thought the classes were expensive, but when I realized the workout skills and diligence I was learning, and the service and motivation I was provided, the cost made absolute sense! It is so worth it! Lastly, there were a couple times I got stuck at work in a pinch and could not feasibly make the class I had reserved within a few hours. After communicating with management, they graciously allowed me to reschedule without any penalty! The staff are some of the nicest, most understanding people I have ever met. Shout-outs to instructors Sam, Damion, Shane, and Haley for giving me phenomenal workouts the past 10 months and helping me get into better physical shape! And shout-outs to Marina and John for establishing a wonderful workout community on Columbia Pike that I’ve been proud to be a part of! :)
