::Business Owners - Read This I met with several banks regarding an SBA 7a loan for a franchise. I did not appreciate Mark's approach to the process. He gave the impression that I had little chance of getting approved because his process is so rigorous (I have great credit and am well capitalized). I fully understand having your ducks in a row when applying to get the loan, and I did before we even met, but it's not a one shot and you're approved or denied. Through a lot of research, I learned there are commercial loan advisors/consultants. These guys' sole mission is to get you funding and have special relationships with private money banks that are SBA Preferred Lending Partners (some of which prefer funding to franchises.) I won't mention the one I went with so this does not appear to be an advertisement, but due your research. Work with someone who cares about your aspirations and goals.

::I had a horrible experience with this bank. They will basically bully you after you sign that contract. They forced me to do a deed on two extra buildings for collateral which is very unusual. The customer doesn't have a saying and it is all about the bank. The interest rates and fees are out of proportion. I would stay away from this bank.
