Tom pulled out all the stops for me 2 weeks ago. I brought in my 2008 Kona "Jake the Snake" CX bike (used for gravel riding) which needed an overhaul, including a new wheelset. Since this frame won't accept disc brakes, the one "must have" on my list was that he replace the suicide cantilever brakes w/ linear pull TRP brand cx 8.4s, of which I had read many great reviews. Here is the cool thing: he got wicked excited because those are the same brakes he has on his gravel grinder! He went over the whole bike and had a quote for me in just a couple hours, pretty great for a shop that has people coming and going non-stop. I gave him the go-ahead, and w/ a small deposit all the components were ordered, including the new wheels. A few days after that, less than a week after I brought Jake in, he was a brand new bike, I mean literally, a brand new, state of the art gravel machine! Jake is ecstatic and ready for another 10 years of off-road fun. Me? Well, let's just say I dropped off my road bike for some of that Crankworks love earlier today. As a matter of fact, I will be bringing my cycling business to Tom and Bill and the rest of the crew at CrankWorks (and telling all my cycling friends too)!

I came down last Saturday to check out new bikes. A young man came and showed me all types of bikes and was extremely friendly and helpful! I wish I had his name because he was an awesome human being not just a salesman. If you need help with anything this bike shop is a great place to go!

I always get excellent service here & this week was no exception. My bike needed a service right before the women's mountain bike clinic being held in town. Not only did Bill & Jeanette get my bike back to me in time but they supported the clinic with donations, time & money. Vanessa from Crankworks was offering bike maintenance support at the clinic & when it was over she took some extra time to help me put back together my stem which had been adjusted during the clinic. She also helped explain what she was doing & why so that if I needed to make adjustments later I could. So very grateful to have such a great local bike shop.

I started going to Crankworks a couple of years ago. I knew very little about the road bike I took in to get serviced. They were patient and kind and extremely thorough in explaining all of the mechanical issues to me. Up until this point, I had always been a little intimidated to go into bike shops, to be honest. But I felt extremely comfortable with their courteous and attentive staff from day one. After I got into road biking I really got into mountain biking and purchased a Scott Contessa Spark from them. They were incredible to work with in helping me pick out the best bike for my frame and riding style (I couldn't love my bike more!) I ended up buying a Surly Ogre commuter from them as well. And again, had a tremendous experience with the staff and bike mechanics. I get all of my bikes serviced there and their turn around time is incredible. I think their bike selection is top-notch as well. They sell higher-end bikes. Which can be somewhat shocking at first if you compare prices to big chain department stores. But there is no substitute for a well built bike and a well staffed local bike shop. I can't praise all the folks at Cranworks enough!!
