  Amazing food and atmosphere. We arrived as a party of 8 on a Friday evening, memorial day weekend. We spent 3.5 hours sharing appetizers and entrees. I can say Everything on the menu was amazing. The rooftop had a beautiful view of downtown. I would recommend this for special occasion or if you just love great food.

  What an incredible evening. Gorgeous architecture and decor. Superb staff. Beautifully presented dishes. Flavors I have not experienced anywhere else in Jacksonville. Forking Good Restaurants hit it out of the park!

  The atmosphere is great and the staff are very courteous and polite. The bar tender on the first floor is very knowledgeable as well as attentive while at the bar. The rooftop environment is very comfortable providing weather permitting. Overall the restaurant is clean with great food and top notch staff. I would recommend it to anyone. The downfall is some of the staff are not as professional with personal appearance as should be for this style of restaurant. Also the need for a reservation can be annoying at times to dine at a table on the first or second floor.

  The atmosphere, ambience is 5+ star. But food/beverage quality suspect. Chopped salad at $14 was nothing special at all. Have had better at low end chain restaurants. Bar bite tacos at $14, embarrassing. Local gin for martini $20, seriously? And finally Virginia chardonnay at $10? Please, if you are going to have wine from Virginia, just give it away. How can you invest so much money in a gorgeous setting & not pay attention to the basics. We'll be back for drinks only because of the atmosphere but definitely don't trust the food & prices.

  We ( a party of 3) loved it overall. However... We went out for a pristine dining experience. And, we paid for it: our $500 dinner and $250 bar tab reflected. When we ordered a beer at the table that is served at the bar we do not expect to be told that it is not available downstairs. Our, server seemed to have some trouble processing the concept of going upstairs to get the beer. We obviously have no problem spending the money for top-notch products and services. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, the exceptional rooftop bar service and view was well worth the money spent. But, our dinner service left a bit to be desired. We will recommend The Cowford Chophouse to others as it is a cornerstone of Jacksonville's history. But, be aware of the service that you receive.
