I had both of my children here, and am so grateful for this birth center and the lovely people who work here. Both times I traveled from out of the area (about 2 hrs away) to birth here, and it was well worth the extra effort to do so. They are flexible with out-of-towners, accepted my insurance, and most importantly, provided the intimate and calm natural birth experience I hoped for — and could not find in my own hometown. Also love that there is a well-regarded birth hospital right across the street in case of emergency. Thank you for your work in supporting natural and safe childbirth.

I have had all of my children here and I cannot praise these midwives and what they do enough. My first pregnancy was of course a source of nerves and worries, they totally settled me into the pregnancy well and then continued throughout to give me encouragement and help. The births have all gone well and I especially appreciate the fact that there is a shower, bath, and bed in each room for your personal use. No sharing and no other people walking around disturbing you. There is also a general living room area for friends and family to wait equipped with a kitchen! You are pretty much allowed to bring any comforts from home in and they are more than happy to answer any questions at any time. They also are very special in that they explain everything to you and then let you make the decisions. No feeling forced and no feeling like you are stupid. A perfect balance of care. Three pregnancies with three successful births all with these midwives and nurses. Wouldn't have it any other way!

I have not given birth here yet but I did take a tour and had an appointment with one of the midwives. We live almost two hours away from this location but I did not like the other provider I had previously been seeing and went on the search to find a place that would make me feel more comfortable. I gave birth to my first daughter with a midwife but then I moved to Connecticut and had to find a new place. It feels warm and personal in the office and the options for birthing in the center are amazing. They are also willing to be flexible with the visits because I am traveling so far. Wish there were more centers like this throughout the country. Thank you for providing these services.

I would definitely recommend CCWC. This was my first pregnancy and I knew I wanted to have few interventions throughout my pregnancy and labor/delivery if possible. The birth center granted all of my wishes, answered all of my questions, and treated me and my husband with respect. I made sure I saw a different midwife at every apt just so I got to know all of them- any one of them could delivery your baby. Every midwife was pleasant, respectful, knowledgeable and kind. I would have felt comfortable with any one of the midwives delivering my baby. Stephanie goldsmith was the midwife who ended up delivering our baby boy. Luckily I was 10cm by the time I got to the birth center so it was time to push. Stephanie kept it cool- was super calm but still kept it professional. I felt safe and confident with her care. Also- I had a second degree tear and didn’t feel a thing when she stitched me up- thank goodness for that. Paris was a nurse that was with us throughout our time there and she was great. She as well was super calm, making the environment relaxed and stress free. She did her job smoothly and diligently while still respecting my husband and my special time during our baby’s birth. We delivered in the tub- Paris took my vitals and our baby’s vitals without disturbing our special moment. Our entire experience during labor/delivery was perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing. I could not recommend the birth center enough. I’m so pleased with my care, I will definitely be delivering here again for baby number two!

This review is long overdue. I gave birth to my daughter almost two years ago with the amazing ladies at the CT birth center. I didn't get to birth at the center like I originally planned (needed to be induced at 42+ weeks, they are so amazing they allowed me time to make my own decisions about how long I should wait for induction) but birthing at Danbury Hospital ended up being exactly what I needed. She is my first child and the delivery took a major toll on my body so having the extra time to rest and heal at the hospital was what I needed. For anyone fearing a hospital birth as I initially was, please please don't let it deter you. The nurses there are beyond amazing and I felt cared for and supported, and my choices were respected every single minute. I had the truly natural birth I wanted with no pain meds and no additional interventions. I also had a doula there along with my husband and the hospital and midwives are so supportive of that. Jenna was my midwife who delivered my baby and she was absolutely amazing. She is so experienced, considerate, caring, and reassuring. She made me feel so empowered and confident throughout my labor. I just can't say enough beautiful things about her. Every single midwife that I met with during my prenatals were all more than qualified and a joy to get to know. I actually switched practices midway through my pregnancy and I cannot tell you how truly fortunate I was to have been able to birth with the CT midwives. I am so grateful they were able to make room for me at the last minute. This place is truly special and I would not give a second thought at birthing anywhere else. Seriously. I still go to them for my annual visits and love getting to see them and show them how my baby has grown. You feel like family there. There were a couple negative reviews from years ago and I almost let that ruin my chance of choosing these midwives. Don't let that happen to you.
