::My hound dog, Porterhouse, has been a patient for 9 years. A few years back when I almost decided to investigate somewhere else, Dr Shebel showed up. She is an amazing vet and I’m so lucky she takes such good care of Mr P.

::I have taken my pets to Commonwealth Animal Hospital since 2004 and have always had a positive experience with the vets and their staff. I usually drop off my pets before going to work and am able to do so without an appointment, which is very helpful. I also appreciate their Saturday hours - very convenient for me as I work out of town Monday through Friday.

::I've been going to Commonwealth for many years. As with any medical office, the doctor you see and how his/her approach aligns with your philosophy is a primary factor in determining satisfaction with care. I have found all the front office personnel and all the techs very professional and caring. I try to see Dr. Haver when I go in because I have found his values most closely match mine. Dr. Watkins is top-notch, but as owner of the practice he is spread more thinly than the other vets. Even when I cannot see one of these two, I have found that communicating with the vet has been easy and they have always been willing to let me switch ongoing care to one of the other doctors if it makes me feel more comfortable. I recommend this practice and encourage any newcomers to see all the doctors and choose the one that they click with. Experience runs the gamut from traditional to acupuncture to herbal...you are almost sure to find an approach that you feel comfortable with.

::This place is terrible. Extremely unprofessional. My lab was in for a routine bordetella vaccine and the vet and vet tech were having difficulty giving the vaccine to my dog. They asked my wife to help hold her and even asked her to administer the vaccine. Extremely unprofessional. It is their job to administer routine vaccines and be able to handle pets that don't like trips to the vet and not enlist the assistance of the owner. I don't blame my dog for not wanting to be here. I will never go back.

::Dr. Haver has been fantastic in caring for my two dogs - especially my one "problem child" who is constantly battling allergies and has experienced a variety of other issues. He is especially great at explaining our options and then helping to create a common-sense, manageable plan of action. He also often goes above and beyond his duty and follows up to see how we're managing.
