  If you are thinking about coming here to buy wood for a DIY project do not. They will not cut pieces for you and will not recommend any place that can but they will suggest that you buy one of their handsaws. The employees are rude and unhelpful. I asked them a few questions like "what size nails do you recommend with this thickness of wood" and received the response "you do the thinking, not us". Additionally, the store is an absolute mess and most likely a safety hazard with stacks and stacks of wood and metal lining all the hallways.

  Great spot - through a maze of lumber, there is a well stocked hardware store with friendly service. Been here 30-ish years and it shows, they know what they’re doing.

  excellent value especially for NYC, staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable.
