::Childs Gallery is a delightful Boston landmark, serving collectors worldwide. Though recent renovations have occurred, the history of the gallery and the quality of artwork is evident walking through the front door. Not many establishments offer Old Master through contemporary, in every medium possible. Definitely something for everyone and every budget. Also, a great place to sell your fine art too

::Consigned a Ignaz Marcel Gaugengigl painting with Richard Baiano and Stephanie Bond of Childs Gallery. They were aware that i was selling the painting to raise finance for medical treatment. Childs gallery sold the painting, unfortunately neither Richard Baiano or Stephanie Bond have seen fit to pay me the consignor any of the money from the painting. They sold the painting for a nice amount of money and informed me that they owed me $9,500. Knowing i needed the money for medical treatment they are still refusing to pay me what they owe. if you are considering consigning with Childs Gallery please be aware that neither Richard Baiano or Stephanie Bond are as honest as they try to make themselves appear. This is an accurate account of my experience with Richard Baiano and Stephanie Bond of Childs Gallery.

::Childs Gallery is probably the best art gallery/antique shop in ALL of New England, not just in Massachusetts. Their only competition is from their neighbor and only rival, Brodney Antiques, a few doors down on Newbury Street. However, Brodney is only quantitatively superior. Qualitatively, Childs has an unmatched inventory of high quality museum-worthy paintings, sculptures and prints in the entire New England area. The staff is very knowledgeable and highly professional. They also do their best to be very courteous and friendly. However, one can still feel a bit of uppityness in the sociality and culture of the gallery. Then, again, when you're #1, even the subtlest attitude is to be expected. Still, in my book, they're #1 in Massachusetts and all New England. Brodney is a close second. Period.
