  Checkers has just about everything I need on a daily basis, plus Cajun style fish and kitchen and a coffee/soft drink counter. The cashiers are always friendly and helpful. This store is a Mom and Pop store and serves the large community over here on the NE central side of town. Years ago it used to be an old fashioned pharmacy with a soda jerk who concocted all sorts of ice cream desserts.
