  Nice people at front desk. Place is great for the price point. Very historic and easy walking distance to all the New Orleans action. We were 2 blocks from Bourbon and one block from Decatur and Royal.

  Four of us arrived for dinner about 7:30 on a Thursday. Not too busy. We were greeted and seates like we were old friends. The drinks were crafted by a skilled bartender. Dinner was exceptional. The preparation was perfect and the presentation beautiful. The only thing better than the food was the service! We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend Angeline's.

  We used to love this hotel; we have stayed here half a dozen or more times. But a recent visit was so disappointing that next time we visit NOLA we will probably look for a different hotel. I had reserved and paid for a "superior" room for a two-night romantic getaway, expecting a room that met the description on the website, including "either a courtyard balcony or a 1st floor courtyard with outdoor seating." After a strangely long and awkward check-in, we were led across and down the street to a building next to the hotel's parking lot. While this room did have a king-size bed and a large bathroom, there was only one tiny window, through which we had an excellent view of the interior of the vehicle that was parked next to it. A few minutes later, however, the desk clerk returned and offered us a different room in the main hotel which at least had a street balcony, with the option to be moved to a true "superior" room for our second night. This room was OK, but not great. The room we were moved to for our second night was lovely, exactly what I had hoped for -- although the bathroom has a strange and dangerous shower that is two full steps down. We really miss the continental breakfast from years past, replaced with the cheapest possible in-room coffeemaker with barely enough coffee to make two weak cups. I read in other reviews that the staff was great, but we got none of that vibe on our stay. We miss the old Chateau Hotel.

  If you're looking for a quiet place in the heart of the French Quarter, Chateau is the perfect location! We stayed at Chateau over a weekend, and we could not have been happier with the location. It is in the heart of the French Quarter, though it is far enough off the beaten path to be quiet. It is a safe area, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go without worry. The staff was helpful and funny! We had a blast visiting with the concierges. The pool area is also really nice! There is a parking lot across the street, and it was great to know our vehicle was in a gated area during our stay. The rooms here are older, and a renovation would be nice and is likely in the works considering how the French Quarter has progressed in the last ten years. Don't let the rooms scare you off - this location is great, and it's nice to stay somewhere where you'll feel safe and cared for by the staff.
