Sounds like you all need some cultural competency training...not a good look Charleston's. ***Long Post Alert Please SHARE***I was awaiting a post from my chapter President in order to not speak on behalf of the Sorority. Yesterday, on 05/12/2018, our Sorority decided to have an event held at Charleston's Restaurant on 76th and Dodge. I booked the private room weeks in advance from 4-7 pm and arrived around 355pm. I asked a young lady at the front desk if the room was available because I saw about 10 of the ladies were already there waiting to be seated. She said, "no, there's a party in there, but they should be finishing up soon." So I went ahead and joined the other ladies. We were seated shortly after. We entered the room, got seated, and awaited the other members to show up. At about 4:15pm, a male accompanied by two servers stepped near the room. Without a formal identifying introduction, He said "Um, where's your people?" I questioned, "What?" A little taken aback by his question and attitude. He asked, "Is the rest of your party coming?" I answered, "Yes, they're coming, they should be on the way." He replied, "Ok, well, it's 4:15, and another party has the room at 6:15." I responded, "When I reserved the room, I was advised that it had to be booked in 3 hour increments." The individual responded "I never told you that." I let him know that I didn't think I booked with him (his voice sounded unfamiliar). At that point, another one of my sorority sisters asked for clarification, "Are you asking if we are going to try to stay past our time? Are you thinking we will overstay our welcome?" He said "No, you are welcome here," but added that "you people" like to show up late and he just wanted to know what was going on and why the full party wasn't here yet. He walked away, STILL without an introduction. We had to ask one of the servers who that was. He replied "Vince Fletcher, he's our GM." I felt upset, confused, and unwelcome all at the same time. I took a minute to gather my thoughts and My President decided step in and go talk to the manager herself. I accompanied her. She formally introduced herself and her affiliation with the Sorority. After trying to discuss the incident with the manager, letting him know the information we received about booking the room, and advising that we want to patronize his restaurant, but his presentation and line of questioning made us feel unwelcome. He refused to take accountability. He cited that it was Creighton's graduation day and he's booked all day. He questioned that if we thought we had the room from 4-7 and someone shows up at 6, are you gonna let 'em eat? He pointed to people that were walk-ins that were seated that he also had to accommodate. He also cited an employee's name (Mike), and that he would be first on his list to deal with. He offered a drink and said it was a misunderstanding. He stated he is not a mind reader and so he can't possibly know or have all of the information. Upon hearing that insufficient explanation coupled with a missing apology, we decided to leave and dine elsewhere. The most unfortunate part about all of this was it was my first time at this restaurant. It has left such a sour taste in my mouth that I will not be patronizing them or referring them to anyone in the future. I will also be writing a formal letter/complaint about this incident and lack of professionalism to the company. I would also like to note on record that Mike provided great customer service and was extremely helpful when I booked the room in case he suffers any type of reprimand or retaliation from Mr. Fletcher. I will be sharing this information with the company as well.

Good food, steak was cooked perfectly. Everyone was very attentive. Table next to mine had a short wait for drinks which the manager found unacceptable so he bought the first round. Good customer service.

Great place! Good steaks, salads are fresh and rich in flavor. The rib and chicken platter is delicious. Huge portions and reasonable prices. Wonderful dining experience every time.

Went here for happy hour. Casual ambiance with a great crowd. Beers were ice cold and food was amazing. The shrimp skewer and roasted chicken were really good!

Interesting find. Here on business and wanted something different than the normal fare. Dont let the facade fool you, inside is a very nice atmosphere. A little random on the theme but comfortable and reserved. Excellent service from the front door hostess all the way to busing. Menu is as varied as the theme and reminded me of menu offerings from hotels along the east coast. Do not be afraid to ask the staff questions they are knowledgeable of the offerings and can give you great recommendations and pairing options. I had the fish and chips which I'm always a bit leery of when made with cod. It was cooked spot on with just the right amount of seasoning and without the fish smell (always a good sign that the kitchen staff is on point). I thought at first the prices were a bit high but after the meal it proved to be perfectly metered towards the experience.
