::Very modern environment. Ate at the bar and had a great time with the people around us and the bartender.

::This is one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. It has a simple but superb menu. It's not quite Fiola, but definitely worth checking out. It's conjoined with a market where you can buy fresh pasta, baked goods and other tasty stuff.

::After visiting for a date night dinner, I was pleasantly surprised by Centrolina - I knew almost nothing before arriving and had to ask questions about many of the menu items, easily answered by staff whose service was attentive and friendly. Most importantly, the food was absolutely amazing. We started with the oxtail and tuna appetizer, and I will be dreaming about it for weeks. I can easily compare my entree, excellently prepared duck (with crispy skin, of course) served with shiitake mushrooms and buckwheat crepes and drizzled with a bittersweet preserves, to meals I've had at twice the price point. My husband's gnocchi and rabbit dish was simple but delicious and filling, and I've already heard him rave about it to several of his friends. Our recommended wine paired perfectly too, without breaking the bank. I am already planning to go back for the bar seating and to see if that oxtail appetizer is still on the menu. Centrolina has won a place on my list of "nice night out" restaurants with ease.

::I wish the tables had more spaces between them. It was hard to talk to the people at my table due to the crowd. The food is excellent. Outdoor seating is best for conversation. The location is my favourite. Good selection of wine. It changed my view of Italian cuisine. Expensive but worth the try. Highly recommend but be prepared for the cosy seating.

::My wife and I had been to Centrolina once before and enjoyed it a lot, but that had been a large party of people and a bit of a reunion so it's the people that I remember most from that evening. This time it was our anniversary and we were able to focus on the food (and, um, each other) and it was superlative. Honestly, one of the best meals I've had. I had the minestrone as an appetizer and the Mare seafood dish and both were complex and flavorful and creative and (almost out of breath here) utterly satisfying. It was also early enough in the evening (6 to 7) that it wasn't busy and we were able to (wait for it) talk. Was it the anniversary (eleven years with a wonderful woman and mother) or the food? Both.
