::I don't care much for this library system anymore because the people that work here — and in all other branches I've been to — have allowed barbarians to infiltrate the sanctuary ... and now street trash dope fiends are permanent daytime squatters, blithely impeding the traffic of vacuous yuppie schmucks inanely jabbering on their phones. Also, for a library that has a guaranteed source of yearly revenue in a growing city (i.e. increasing tax base), I'm not seeing any timely computer hardware or software updates ... and what's with having to pay 10¢ a page for résumés? That should be a free service for job seekers! Not only that, but my girlfriend in Clackamas gets reserved books sometimes MONTHS before I do using this system, which supposedly owns one of the largest circulations in the nation. Another tarnished once-treasured Portland institution. It's sad that I'm going to get a Beaverton mailing address so I can access a library that listens to its patrons, spends its money sensibly, and doesn't cater exclusively to tatterdemalian churls and vapid affluents. INSPECT YOUR BOOKS FOR BED BUGS! I've complained about this, but evidently the Multnomah County library system doesn't concern itself with public health issues. Thanks, jerks! You owe my building management for a pest control bill, far's I'm concerned.
