I was referred to this location by my dentist because of a pain in my jaw from biting down on something incorrectly. They found nothing on the X-rays. Dr. Maggan stated that I must grind my teeth when sleeping(I do not, and never have) and he thought sizing me for day and night guards would eliminate my discomfort, along with the muscle relaxers prescribed. During my consultation visit and the initial visit at the receptionist desk, I expressed concern and made clear my concern that they accept my insurance. I was told they'd contact my insurance and let me know if the services were covered. My follow-up appt. was coming up, and I had not heard from TMJ regarding if the services were covered. I called my insurance to get info of covered services. They needed the procedure codes of the services to see if the services would be covered. I then called TMJ for this information, and they would not provide that information until services were paid in full. I never used the guards nor the prescription. I have no pain. I can eat and open my mouth without restriction. I feel scammed they know they don't take insurance for their services. They give services you don't need. They don't give you the procedure codes until after you've made payment to them because you'll find out the services are not covered and decline their services. Scammers.

I had HORRID TMJ disorder. I tried many treatments over the course of six years. I tried the custom-fit night guards from my dentist. I had multiple rounds of botox injections in my jaw muscles. I saw a chiropractor. None of it helped. Dr. Maggan was able to diagnose my tmj disorder and actually explain to me why none of those treatments worked (I was trying to solve my "symptoms" not the actual cause). He set up my treatment plan and had my custom mouth splints made within the month. The relief was almost immediate while I was wearing the splints and now that I am finished with my treatment plan, the pain has stayed gone. No more pain. No more jaw locking or popping. Was the treatment expensive? At face value, sure. BUT considering what all the payments actually covered (imaging, appointments, adjustments, and the actual splints) and the fact that it actually worked, I would say no. It's not expensive. Spend the money. You'll be thankful you did!

My dentist referred me to Dr. Manoj for my TMJ issues. Receptionist was very clear at explaining their fees and scheduling process. Staff are nice and the office is neat and clean (stars for all of the above) Now, my experience with the Doctor was a bit peculiar. I was asked to bring my NTI appliance, i met the doctor and his nurse. I advised them i was in extreme pain and didn't know why but i suspected it was because of the nightguard. They were all nice but the doctor explained things i already know from either my ENT or dentist and even Google. He took an hour to tell me what TMJ and sleep apnea (snoring) is. I was surprised he advised me to continue using the same appliance after telling him i will wake up sore after using it all night. He also prescribed a muscle relaxer (Norgesic) you can only get from a "private pharmacy" and his office will send the prescription to them and could not get at any regular pharmacy like CVS or Walgreens.., offered a sample and he assured me my insurance will cover it(not sure how he will know this?). Came to find out this prescription is not even covered by Gold RX! He also wanted me to get some CT scan done (didn't explain why i needed imaging done). In summary, the don't take insurance and didn't find him informative nor helpful in my situation. Office visit was $195. CT scan is done at this location for $800. Also, he is not the only TMJ doctor in the area.

Being one of the only TMJ clinics in ATL, Dr. Maggan and his team have high expectations of their own work. Everyone is professional and understanding. Dr. Maggan and Jaime are both good listeners. They are very willing to listen to problems and find the best fit solution for my situation.
