This is great relaxing park. It holds a lot of history with respect to the 1996 Olympic Games. The park is well laid out and also includes a section related to the paraolympians. There is plenty of information tucked away in obscure places that makes walking around seem like a historical treasure hunt.

Have been here for two festivals. Shaky Knees and Sweetwater 420. Both were excellent experiences. It's a relatively small and only has a few stages, but that's just fine. Entering and exiting the park is easy in the city, and parking isn't too bad. The layout makes sense, and the food truck corner is probably my favorite part. I feel safe with Atlanta PD there and have never had any problems. Will be returning for more festivals soon!

The epicenter of the 1996 Olympics, Centennial Park has been transformed into a small green space that provides a nice respite for tourist and locals entrapped in the middle of Atlanta's concrete and glass landscape. The park is conveniently located near popular attractions: College Football Hall of Fame, Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Ferris wheel, CNN, Phillips Arena, The Tabernacle and Mercedes Benz Stadium. In addition there are many choice restaurants in the area as well as hotels. The park is filled with paths to stroll, a lush great lawn, water gardens, doggie fountain, infinity pool and water light show. It boasts the world’s largest interactive fountain featuring the Olympic Ring symbol, which children are welcomed to frolic in the water jets as it is a safe zero-depth pool, additionally it’s free to view the Fountain of Rings show, which plays four times a day. However, that free admission is the reason for park's murkier side, as it serves as the bathroom, salon, and day spa for Atlanta's burgeoning urban outdoors persons (homeless) population. These very outdoors persons can be quite annoying, assertive and down right aggressive when attempting to shaking people down for money. And because of their constant presence the public restrooms are unsafe, unsanitary and gross. Far too often the restrooms are well soiled, muddy and utterly useless accept to the most desperate. Furthermore, parents should not allow their children to enter the restrooms unattended for any reason or momentary period of time. Currently, the park is under construction and renovation and hopefully it will improve certain issues that would make visiting the park far more pleasant and safe.

I recommend visiting to all whom visit the downtown area. Saw a absolutely beautiful water show combined with music in the center of the park. Children's play areas are innovative and very fun. Friendly park and security staff. Beautiful layout, water displays, and pathways. Just watch out for beggars. The park also gives you access to many fun activities and museums. Food available by Googie Burgers.

The Centennial Olympic Park is a good place to spend some time with your children while you also enjoy the view and atmosphere. Kids can play all around with others and walk around the park. It is fairly clean. If you just want to read a book some where around, the place may also offer a good spot for that. It is also located in the middle of so many great attractions.
