  I had a tranny done in my 98 S-10 pickup about 60,000 miles ago, which I have to admit, has operated flawlessly. I developed a leak related to the transmission which had become serious enough to warrant repair. I was told one of the cooling lines has corroded, and would need to be replaced or repaired. He was able to repair it....however, by the time I got home, which was only about 5 miles from the shop, it was pissing transmission fluid all over the ground. They are supposed to tow the truck back to their shop this morning to re-repair the leak AND determine why my battery suddenly went dead....More to come, I'm sure. This was some time ago...why it never published, I don't know. Since then, we did a transmission in our 2004 Taurus over 50,000 miles ago, with absolutely no problems since. This morning, we are sending in our Volkswagen Jetta to be checked out. I don't think it needs a complete rebuild, but we'll see what they say. It operates in drive fine....but you have to give it a little gas to get reverse to catch, and then it bangs into gear. Fast forward to 2017-2018: Mike became our regular mechanic for the family. His work was really good, his pricing was always more than reasonable, and he's just an all-around good and honest guy. We have since moved way upstate, and I would be lying if I said we didn't miss him.

  I had gone to CHAMPION TRANSMISSION after receiving a lot of confusing information from other transmission shops. Mike told me immediately what was wrong and fixed my transmission for me at an extremely fair price. I also needed a lot of front end work and was going on a trip. He went out of his way to fit me in on a Saturday and worked late to resolve problems for me. He is extremely honest and reliable.   I recently had Mike the owner of champion install a new clutch and flywheel, install belts, and adjust brakes. I could not be happier with his work, he is honest and sticks to the price he gives you. Very nice guys that make you feel like your not going to be taken advantage of.... And the best part is every time I called I got the owner, how often do you see that anymore? Rarely!. I've been burned by people in the past so Mike went and showed me the old clutch and flywheel to make me assured the work was done and done right. As a semi hands on guy that can do some mechanics I would not hesitate to recommend champion transmissions to all my family and friends!!!. Thank you Mike. John

  Great service. Been going to Champion Transmissions of Coram for a few years now. They explain everything in detail of what is wrong with the car. Plus a local drop off and pick up service if you need . You can't go wrong with Champions service.
