::Love the online presence of this place, and the cool events they organize, but going in person was a lackluster experience. Staff had a chilly demeanor, less than welcoming, but not rude. Definitely seemed knowledgeable and able to answer any questions I might have, but I'd have to work up the nerve to be an inconvenience first. Book selection and herbs were fantastic if you know what you're looking for.

::Went to this place a couple of months back after lurking on their instagram page for a bit. I was so excited to go and come into the store, but I was extremely disappointed. The store was much smaller than I expected, and I felt almost misled by the pictures I saw of the store on instagram. I came up to the staff, happy to start a conversation about how excited I was to finally visit the store, but no one was clearly willing to talk to me or at least be friendly. I felt uncomfortable and like a bother to the cashier, so I quickly found some stones to purchase and left. Not to mention that a majority of the items in the store are grossly overpriced and 3 small tumbled stones cost me $16, whereas in my previous experiences at other shops, the same amount of stones would have cost me maybe less than $10, if even $5. It was not worth the experience and I would not go there again. As a fellow magickal practitioner, I had hoped to be treated with at least some kindness or familiarity, but instead I was treated with disdain for even trying to start a conversation. As a college student moving from my school in upstate New York to NYC on the regular, I really wanted to find a store I could visit to purchase supplies for my craft at home. Catland is clearly not the place for me. If anyone is looking for warm, kind-hearted staff that will be willing to talk to you and answer any questions, I would highly recommend Enchantments NYC in East Village instead.

::First off, what a GREAT NAME for a store. Secondly, staff were very knowledgeable and honest. I purchased some rocks (specifically: lepidolite, blue obsidian and nephrite jade) and bought a small pouch to hold them in. The rocks have perfect weight and feel great between my fingers. Additionally, I received my first tarot card reading for 30 minutes and it was a surreal and rewarding experience. Erin's presence is very calming and she explains things with ease and she helped me get through a very rough time by allowing me to see things from a stranger's point of view and being receptive to whatever the universe holds.

::A warm and knowledgeable staff are there to help you with all of your magical needs. Their classes are rich and informative, perfect for well established witches or those just starting to explore the occult. What a lovely place!
