  Quirky, jazzy spot with slightly eccentric regulars, friendly bar and decent prices. It's not a hole in the wall but not a place where you'd stay for hours on end either. It's a good hit it and quit it spot on your way home.

  I used to give it 5 stars. Now it's 1. The new owner banned my brother from going and a few others because she simply didn't like them. So I am biased in my reasoning for disliking it.

  My favorite dive in Houston. A place to find Ella Fitzgerald playing at an appropriate volume for conversion. Free popcorn! Update: So sad friends! The couple who owned the place sold it in early 2018. They no longer play jazz. Just another hipster dive on montrose now. Rating changed to 3 stars.

  In my previous review, I said the only good thing about this place was the free popcorn. It's under new management who got rid of the popcorn in an effort to curb the roach problem. Instead they have an overpriced snack machine and an outrageously priced cigarette machine that doesn't even work. The regulars like it, and they don't take kindly to outsiders. It's a dive bar in the true sense, not in the trendy, fun sense. they do have trivia most Wednesdays as advertised, but not the advertised live music or themed playlists the other days of the week.
