::No more Jesus and now allowing women!? Weirder and weirder!

::Fun safe camp right in Balboa park great for exploring the city
Jennifer Staples
::Excellent source for all things scout related.

::People and service are great. However, the buildings and infrastructure are old and outdated and badly in need of renovation and modernization. Part of the staff are in mobile classroom trailers. There is no or minimal air conditioning in many of the offices. One moderately large meeting room (Atherton Hall) and a handful of tiny ones. The Scout Shop is adequate, but small. Parking is adequate for everyday business. They other facilities - campground, fire pit, swimming pool are OK but showing their age. One nice thing is that you can listen to the animals in the zoo. But..... it is a wonderful, friendly place for the price paid!

::Nice place to sit outdoors, eat lunch & listen to the birds & the wind in the trees (& a little bit of distant freeway noise to remind you you're not really ”off the beaten track”). I also love how BSA helps kids (boys & girls) learn what they would have a very difficult time learning elsewhere, if for no other reason than that ”elsewhere” would likely be very expensive. Thank you scouters!
