  After gambling downtown some friends and I needed food. As any Hawaii visitor knows, you can't go wrong with the local kine grinds at the Market Street Cafe inside the Cal. I got the Loco moco and it had a good patty and gravy. Over easy eggs were just right too. Rice could've been better but that's me trying to nitpick. Cheap and filling, if you want a taste of the islands, this is the spot.

  We ate at the Market Street Cafe because friends recommended it. I have to have gluten free food (and so does the friend who was with me) and hoped that the prime rib would be. However, I knew my friend and I were in trouble when I asked if the kitchen was aware of gluten free and I got a blank stare by the waitress. When I tried to pare it down to "does the kitchen have good practices for keeping wheat/bread away from the prime rib," we were told "Oh yes, they make sandwiches way on the other side of the kitchen." Needless to say, my friend and I gambled and lost. I should have known better, and after several days of miserable stomachs, my friend and I have gone back to reiterating that we can't just hope that the kitchen knows gluten free, even in Las Vegas. However, if you don't need to eat gluten free, and if you love an 80's diner lounge vibe (including drifting cigarette smoke), and if you like a great deal with tolerable food, this place will probably be perfect for you.

  Great location. Clean rooms. Bed was extremely comfortable. Every single staff member we spoke with was amazing. Machines were stingy but they did have the old timey coin machines, so that was pretty neat. We will probably stay here again on our next Vegas Vacation!

  This is my first visit to the California. I'm here with my partner's family who all love the Boyd properties. I have had a pleasant time. I cannot think of a thing to complain about. The beds are comfortable and the rooms clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. I've gotten to know many of the bartenders and staff well, and I have truly enjoyed the personal connections I have made with them. The public bus also stops right outside of the hotel, and Fremont Street is only a block away. There's a lot to do near by!

  Udmærkede værelser og venlige ansatte. Hverken hotel eller kasino hører til i den fancy ende, men beliggenheden tæt på Freemont Street er god.
