This place is awesome, but hey I'm a nerd so of course I'm giving it a top notch rating. The aquarium is large and exhaustive in detail. My personal favorite though was watching the dark matter presentation in the theatre. They also had an earthquake simulator which was great fun, and many other exhibits. The snake petting really freaked my wife out, I got a kick out of that.

There are some unique elements to this museum and many that you will find in most science museums. The green roof, with information about why that project exists was standout for me, as was the aquarium that could be seen from above as you walk around the main level and below at eye level on the bottom level of the museum. There's also an albino alligator which may or may not be real :). You can tell they really put thought into making the exhibits fun for kids as well as interesting for adults, and you could easily spend a day here with all there is to do. The architecture of the museum was special for me, as the glass let's in a lot of natural light and really creates an open/outside feeling as opposed to other museums which are quite dark.

We loved this place. Our kids were too young for the planetarium but everything else got great attention from them because of the kids-friendly viewing design. Great integration from rainforest to the aquarium to swamp exhibition. The white alligator was symbolic. The penguins tank and the hall of animal models were nice and comfortable.

Ticket prices are way too steep. Try visiting this museum on one of the free days. Not worth the $40 admission fee plus $15 of parking. Park closer to the gardens and walk over (its free). Check the showings on the planetarium list to ensure your interest. The cafe is expensive and the pizza we had in there was horrible. I would recommend packing your lunch if you are going here. Finally, the best part for us was the aquarium and the coral reefs. They are amazing to watch.

A bit pricey, but well worth it. Fantastic biosphere (we had a butterfly land on one of our party), entertaining and educational planetarium (which was a fantastic show about coral reefs when we were there). The aquarium is pretty cool - some very large fish here! There is a good variety of healthy food available for purchase. We didn't get in to the 3D planet show unfortunately - there were too many people ahead of us in the line. Perhaps show these more often? We spent an afternoon here and still feel like there was heaps more to see that we didn't get to. My boys, aged 13 and 11 had a great time. Highly recommended.
