  Café da manhã is a favorite small local lunch spot / bakery for me in South River. The owner, Pedro, is extremely friendly and is happy to answer any questions about the menu as well as make recommendations. They regularly prepare fresh and delicious Portuguese bread and pastries as seen in the photos. They are best known for their broa de milho, the giant bread rolls. In addition, they make fresh pasteis de natas, eclairs, napoleans, and more. Just pick what looks good! I always make sure to get an espresso and one of their various pastries, such as the guardanapo (translated to "napkin", it's a folded yellow roll cake with egg cream and granulated sugar). In addition, they offer daily lunch and dinner specials, posted on their FB page. A few for example are suckling pig (leitao), bifanas (pork steak sandwich), pregos (steak sandwich), etc. Do not miss Café da manhã if you're in the area!

  Small place but amazing food. We go there a lot. Also we order and take home. Really good food. Well recommended.
