  I ate here just last week. I was welcomed. Everyone knew who I was. But it didn't bother them. Thank you greatly!

  Went here for an event which was on the second floor in the Grand Ballroom. It's a beautiful historic building from the 1900's in the prairie style and is an official landmark. It is located just south of the main Zoo grounds and offers a spectacular view of the nature boardwalk at the Lincoln Park Zoo, as well as the wonderful Chicago skyline. They rent the building itself for private events and weddings. You can check their website for more information. There is a restaurant on the first floor which is called The Patio Cafe. They offer seasonal lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch. Check the website for times and dates that they're open, they are currently closed. They also have an ice cream shop where you can just walk up for a delicious treat on a hot summer day.

  The service is very slow!! We waited more than fifteen minutes before someone even asked what we wanted to drink. The salad and nacho portions are very small considering the price. Also no one asked if we wanted more ice tea or other drinks. We had to wave for about ten minutes before someone came when we needed a spoon for the mac and cheese. Considering that the terrace was not even full (max 20 tables) and they had 7! people serving that was very below what one could expect. The view is great and the food ok but the service really makes us reconsider coming here again.
