  Worst experience of my life, bar-none. Take your projected permitting time for your project and triple it. Make sure to stop by all 17 retirement/401k/savings account draining desks to make sure you have paid all you can before you head to final plan review. Once in your final, make sure to bring whats left in your HELOC account to pay for what ever they "Missed Previously". Add a few more months for updates and tens of thousands of additional dollars and voilla, you have your permit. Easy as pie.
