::I lived at female dorm, simply furnishied, very afordable price considering that San Antonio is a vacational city. I didn't use the breakfirst service. But I wake up late and always on the go. The staff was nice, and the speed of WiFi internet was fast, such a relieve.(Just came from a hostel at Dallas with the internet barely worked) I have a car, so by driving is not far form downtown also very close to I-35 highway, and I saw a bus stop around. If you take St. Mary street, it brings you all the way to the most of bar with live band show and the San Antonio zoo. If you take Alamo or broadway, they talk you to downtown and the most of gallories of arts(including Blue Star). It's a historical district, I liked the buildings or architect around the neighborhood, it was fun to walked around, The Fort San Huston is just next to it, bank of Amarica as well, also some stores or resturants or bars are around(didn't visit). In advance, I lived in the historical building too, for me it's interesting and fun. As the same reason, the building is a little bit old(build at 1909) I came there in the wrong season, so San Antonio was more quieter. Not much traffic, easier to drive.

::The hospitality from Alma and Darrin was most gracious and the breakfast was really a-typical of a bed and breakfast. As for the physical characteristics, it's not been fully restored and needs much work. For the price we paid to stay there (about 4 miles from the convention center), others were staying at the Grand Hyatt. The neighborhood doesn't have a good reputation according to the cab drivers although I felt safe walking about at night. The pool did not look inviting but what the heck, I didn't have time to get in it anyway.
