  First off, this place is a total hole in the wall, didn't feel like a legitimate business at all. Lot was in terrible shape - the office was in terrible shape. The desk attendant was beyond AWFUL (just a heads up: he's young, dark skin, short hair - has a real high school-type "smart ass" attitude - not sure why) who refused to honor my Expedia reservation - he was unprofessional and rude, and never apologized for not honoring my reservation. Claiming he was out of cars (the not apologizing was beyond me - when a customer makes a reservation, he should recognize that it's HIS fault he's out of cars), he asked me to pay an additional $30 a day for "the only car he had left." Felt either like a refusal of service, or a straight up bait and switch. On top of that, reading through the other Google reviews, it seems like other customers had the SAME complaints about the service as well - sounds like the same guy I was dealing with. The fact that this business hasn't fired him yet (for a job they could fill TOMORROW) says all you need to know. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. Pay the extra $5-10 and go to a REAL business - the Enterprise in Clifton was highly professional, and saved me from having to deal with any more of this garbage. Already reported them to Expedia - for everyone else out there, save yourself the aggravation and steer clear of Budget / Avis / Payless @ 332 US Hwy 46.

  A JOKE FOR A BUISNESS. So I make a reservation online weeks before coming from California, and take a bus from NY to Jersey to this place to find a closed door, so now im Standing In the heat with my son for half an hour to wait for this so called employee (would fire him in a sec) to come back. He comes back and doesn't even apologize for keeping us waiting. So he takes the reservation Down and then gets a call from. A friend and on the phone for over 5 min. As he saw that I was frustrated and grabbed the business card he hung up. Then he was just Being an a%@% and ended up not renting us a car,and I was left stranded. I don't understand how a company like budget or Avi s jeprodise there name for idiots like that. I know that next time will chose another car company over them

  I am not sure about other peoples review, however, I will talk about my own experience. First off: The Representative it's very rude, very very rude and don't care about the customers opinion or what the customer wants. I had reserved for a Full Size car with Payless and when I arrived there with my family ready to take our road trip, he stated that my car wasn't there and that all he had was a compact car... i didn't have any other option but to take it. Second: The car was handed to me very dirty and used, like if it wasn't clean after the previous customer, I told him about it and he said, if I didn't want the car he couldn't do much. We didn't fit inside the car, we still drive away because as per him he didn't have more cars. An hour away from NJ when we are getting to Connecticut, we hear a noise on the car after we will go past 55 mph, and we thought maybe the street or something, but no, it was the car. The car continue to do the same noise just the miles we were able to drive became less and less, until we reach 40 mph, we couldn't hit that mark or else the car will make the sound as if it was breaking (cla cla cla cla cla cla) I called customer service and they made me drive to Hartford CT to exchange it, when I get there they gave me a hard time, because this people where we rented they are a license not corporate, so only them can edit the rental agreement. So after 1 hour and 20 minutes of of back and forth with the manager, they agreed into giving me a midsize car. But I have to say the experience was horrendous, we arrived to my destination at 2 in the morning something that was supposed to take me 3 hours. Third: After having the new vehicle i was supposed to return on specific date but being that it took me longer to complete my trip I was a day behind, I tried calling customer service but once more time i was told they couldn't edit the reservation, so I eded up calling the office and no one ever picked the phone up. I took it upo myself to return the vehicle, and today on 4/11/17 I decided to return the vehicle, he was one more time extremely rude and gave me a hard time with the payment and the overall experience. I will personally never recommend this location to no one unless they are up for the drama and the rudeness. I will never rent there again horrible experience.
