  Dr. Bruce first performed gum surgery on me about 20 years ago at the UOP Dental School where she teaches periodontistry. I was very impressed with her skills. I needed surgery again recently so I went to see her at her Oakland office, and once again I had a great experience. She is incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and skilled. I really like her and everyone who works in her office. I received the best possible care from everyone, and I highly recommend her to anyone who might need her services.

  I have been going there for a few years and always had very good experiences. Rather than recommending lots of expensive procedures to address my gum disease she just has me get them cleaned every few months. She cares about her patients and their pocketbooks. Also, they give GREAT cleanings but you have to be a patient to get one.

  GET YOUR COST ESTIMATE IN WRITING!!!! I was sold deep-cleaning services when I was referred for a sore lower molar. I was urged to sign up for it immediately before my dental insurance ran out.The total price of the treatment was quoted as $169, Later,3/4 of the way through the treatment, I was suddenly informed that it was $169 per quadrant - not in total. I was shocked but persuaded myself that I must have misheard. So I paid the entire sum (4 X $169) and as I submitted my credit card, I specifically asked whether this would constitute payment in full. I was assured that it was and no further balance existed to be billed. Sadly, I'm now being dunned for yet another $167 now being characterized as charges for the initial evaluation! I have respectfully requested that the balance to be forgiven only to receive further billing with additions for interest. I'm no professional so I can't say whether the treatment was necessary or effective.To add insult to injury, I only know that when I asked, I was told that my original sore tooth for which I had been referred to Dr. Bruce was not a periodontal problem and therefore not treatable by her practice as revealed in the initial examination.
