  Nice mix of tasty American and Italian dishes. Reasonable prices. Attentive wait staff. Outdoor eating options. Convenient free parking.

  Came this evening to have dinner and drinks and the outdoor seating has a 45 minute wait when there are empty table. Additionally there is live music, and it’s so loud that conversation is prohibitive. Drinks took 15 minutes to get in a restaurant that was only filled to 30-40% capacity. Also, could not get a menu to save my life. Would not recommend.

  We recently had a party here for my son because he’s entering the Coast Guard. The owner, Bill, was a pleasure to work with. He was super accommodating (even when I was changing the total number of guests at the last minute). We had full use of both rooms for 4 hours. The staff was really friendly & helpful. And the food is REALLY good. I consider myself to be a chicken francaise expert, & theirs is one of the best I’ve ever had. The pastas are excellent too. We went with the afternoon buffet which included salad, 2 pastas, & 3 entrees. For $3 more per person, we were able to add beer & wine. I love to bake & wanted to bring in my own desserts. Bill knocked off a dollar per person & allowed me to bring in everything I wanted. He also allowed us to come in 2 hours early to decorate. And he provided gluten free pasta & grilled chicken for my guests with a gluten allergy. We had 65 people & everyone was raving about the food & the place itself. What an awesome place to have a party!!

  Ok food, though a bit pricey. Atmosphere here is... Maybe it's just the times we've gone but I never feel comfortable. Maybe just me. The staff seems friendly though not super attentive. Our waitress kept stopping and talking with a family she obviously knew which made getting her attention a bit harder.

  after scouting out some restaurants in the ironbound for our son's post-baptism celebration and being underwhelmed, we decided to check out Brookdale Tavern & Kitchen as our local option. the restaurant is bright, spacious, and modern. we were warmly greeted by the friendly hostess who introduced us to the event coordinator. their private room had already been booked for the day of our occasion, so they gave us the option of having our party in the main section of the restaurant, reassuring us that everything would flow smoothly the day of. Our group of about 60 people gathered comfortably in the middle section of the restaurant and did not even notice the party next door or the diners on the other side. The food was delicious and buffet was always full so everyone was well fed. Our servers were attentive and accommodating, making sure all of our guests were comfortable. We're so happy we found (and introduced to our friends & family) this gem of a restaurant! Would definitely book another event here in the future!
