::In the last 4 years I've gone from a shy audience member and have worked up to being a regular performer. This place has been a fantastic center for learning, entertainment, and just having a great time. Solid shows for improv, stand-up and sketch. It's always a great time, with performances 7 nights a week. Plus tasty food and drinks. Love this place!

::We had an excellent time at Fly-Ass Jokes. The talent was great and the theater was cozy, we're so glad we stopped in on our way through Portland.

::I'm writing this review based on recommendations from my acting/imrpov coach, and from personal experience. This is a place for prospective improv/acting students to sharpen their skills. So, if you run into a few folks whose skills are not up to personal expectations then I'm sure everyone at Brody's would be happy to see you leave; make no mistake, these are some of the most welcoming folks I have ever met. However, the initial goal is to build trust, and from that point the creative process can begin. I suppose the previous rating forgot all about this aspect of acting and improv training. We all begin at the same place, "the bottom." My suggesting to the one star reviewer: If you truly want to see amazing improv than I'd suggest setting up a gigantic mirror -for his ego-, and begin running through improv drills. By the by, the fact that you use the mentally ill homeless population as a form of comical amusement suggests you do NOT belong within a group of open minded, warm hearted, and talented individuals. Such as those people who can usually be found at Brody's.

::The improvisation at this venue is OUTSTANDING!! I was in the business of comedy improvisation for over fifteen years and I've never seen better work than at The Brody. Seriously funny, smart, rigorously trained and dedicated performers.

::Miserable improv...painful to sit through. Not worth the price...even if it was free. Too many awkward pauses by common people that had a hard time developing a creative story together. We went on a Saturday night when it should have been the best performers...but instead it seemed like open mic night for rookies. I know improv is difficult and it takes a unique person with quick wit to make it work...but 5 of the 6 performers in this show had zero of these skills. We've been to over a dozen Improv theaters from coast to coast...and this was the bottom of the barrel. We actually left early and opted to walk the streets of Portland because there's more comedic value from watching homeless people talk to themselves. I've never written a single review in my life...but I chose to write this one because I don't want anyone else to have to sit through this again.
