::The first time I went, I was instantly taken aback by the atmosphere. Dark, dank, smelly. Like wet dogs. Near the counter, you might smell wet dogs with coffee and muffins. They were nice as I ordered, but when I sat at the counter facing Pratt Park, I turned and saw that a man with a white power cross and swastikas on his jean jacket was sitting at their middle table, in plain view, chatting and chillin' with his friend. As a Black person in the CD, it was a jarring but apt metaphor: the literal and figurative provision of safe spaces for the worst of whiteness by corporate entities, while Black displacement and discomfort barely register. Meh, dramatic. But I never forgot how comfortable he was in Seattle's historically-Black Central District, knowing no one (least of all my breath-addicted Black ass) would confront him. Still, I went again, (vegans, they sell Mighty O donuts, yo), and discovered the overwhelming dog smell mixed with their oppressive heat wasn't just a bad day, it's... them. It's highly rated because it's a place where people who smell like the dogs they tongue kiss while smugly replacing Black people with Black Lives Matter signs can congregate comfortably, with almost no Black people in sight. They provide that, and my neighbors love them for it. Personally, I have never hated 4 walls more. I live a block away, so if you're there, and a Black woman passes by with a snarl and middle finger, tis I. It isn't personal. Just as your comfort with accepting the unearned fruits of white supremacy isn't personally about me. The middle finger and denying you my smile is the literal least I can do, yo. You're welcome.

::I love this coffee shop! They have the best hemp milk mocha in Seattle! Also, a delicious iced drink called a Sparkle Pony, it's perfect on a hot day.

::Overpriced coffee and pretty rude service. If you hate your job that much, maybe you should get a new one? I've never been treated more poorly at a coffee shop.

::I love this coffee shop. Great coffee. Better coffee than Starbucks. I don't have a complicated order, but do ask for it extra hot. The baristas here are happy to accommodate. And try the pistachio croissant - very yummy!

::Love the working atmosphere and plenty of workspace. The people we're nice and my bf latte was great. My tea latte was pretty bland and not worth $4 but the area was quiet and I got a lot of work done. Might go back and just stick to coffee.
