::Expect to wait 20-30 minutes for an egg sandwich even if it's not that busy in the store. Even if you call ahead you'll still be waiting. The food is great quality but the customer service is not worth getting your day ruined by the rude people who work there. You ask them where your food is or why it's not ready 30 minutes after you called, and they tell you to go somewhere else. If they fixed the staff, I bet this place wouldn't be so bad.

::My go to breakfast stop. Follow up review 5/13/2017: Not sure what happened to Brendel's but its gone down hill. The past 3 times that I've placed orders either via text or phone I've had to wait while my order was being made. I know sometimes things get backed up but it shouldn't be this bad. The food is excellent quality but not worth the attitude you get when asking where your order is.

::Food is excellent but to deal with the horrible people that work here, I'd much rather let a hobo make my sandwiches. Never went into a place that had worse customer service from every worker in this place. Ordered several times to my workplace sandwiches were forgotten as well as juices. Then the guy that delivered gave us an attitude like it was our fault. Would suggest you stop at McDonald's and get breakfast over getting breakfast here.

::Regarding Brendel's Bagels and Eatery of Hauppauge, I feel so very fortunate to have, within walking distance from my home, a place as wonderful as this to purchase at least two delicious meals a day if I so choose. Although, retired but not from the food business, both my father and grandfather were proprietors of retail food establishments and I do have some idea how difficult it is to run a successful eatery such as Brendel's. Upon entering one encounters a bright, sparkling cleanliness and the various foods and salads are most pleasing to the eye as they are, more importantly, pleasing to the tongue. One could wonder how this level of excellence can be maintained day after day until one encounters the staff who make it all happen. They are talented, attentive and efficient at what they do. They are a diverse group, each with their own style and charm but with the common goal to serve the customers pleasantly and without hesitation. Richie, the store manager, is like a captain of a well practiced team, the training and coordination of which is most likely his doing. Over time I've come to appreciate how well and with precision they move along getting the food ready to be served and waiting on customers with as little difficulty as possible. Kudos also to Craig the owner for creating the whole operation which is something to behold and to be proud of. ---Hank Salerno

::Guy at the counter with glasses wasn't very friendly, on top the fact that upon entering no one was at counter, so I had already been waiting. Granted I ordered a chopped salad with everything, he seemed very unhappy about making it. He didn't get my order right and actually tried to give me my chicken I wanted in the salad on the side??? I apologized and asked him to please put it in the salad....why did I apologize? Anyway, after all that and paying at least 14+ for my salad, he forgot my croutons! Very upset and will not be returning! About to give them a call.
