::The almond croissant is gushing with almond paste. So good! And the staff was able to answer my questions, demonstrating a firm understanding of the construct of the bakery’s offerings.

::I've only been to Bread and Cie a couple of times but I LOVE it! Their breads and pastries are baked fresh daily and it really comes through in the products because everything I've had is delicious! I'll be back soon!

::Delicious bread which they are now famous for. They also have good sandwiches, salads. They start the day early baking. Also pastries. Really high celling which makes for a nice open feeling. A tad noisy. Pleasant clientele and staff. Outdoor and indoor seating. Parking a bit tight.

::Just had the most amazing Salmon LOX plate ever! Served with candied pecans, capers, arugula, tomatoes, cukes & chive cream cheese! I enjoyed a huge cup of coffee with this gourmet meal. The price was another nice surprise! Known for GOURMET plates & artisan breads, & the best soups, & pastries, you will find. The coffee is so good, along with their artistic salads, & sandwiches. There is pleasant outdoor seating. I have always been very happy with my food order here. I like casual & quick, for a 'gourmet' meal. Visitors can just ask, "how do I get to Hillcrest?" Ride several BUS lines. (11, 10, 3, 1, 120)

::Bread and Cie is a staple in the San Diego community and to the Hillcrest neighborhood. These guys have been making wonderful breads and pastries for a long long time in San Diego and should be one of the places you think about if you are looking for a special loaf of bread. With that being said, this a great place to come to for breakfast and lunch. The pastries and sandwiches Bread and Cie offer are quite delicious and always fresh. They also have coffee drinks here as well, but do not expect a mocha frappuccino, they keep it basic, think cappuccino. Parking can be a little tight, but something should be available. Prices are not the cheapest in town but the quality is there, so keep that in mind. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and like most of San Diego, Bread and Cie is dog friendly, which is a plus. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area either for a quick bite or to meet with friends over a delicious pastry.
