::An amazing space for deep thinkers, activist, feminist and the people who love us! Nice choice of snacks & teas, just grab a book, sit down and enjoy the vibes!!! Lots of interesting sights to take in around the neighborhood, Bluestockings prices are reasonable too!!!

::One of my all-time favorite spots in NYC! Delicately not a drive-by joint. Gotta sit for awhile, make new friends, discover an unusual personal gift, have a tasty vegan treat with the best coffee. There's also special events, film screenings, guest speakers.

::Bluestockings represents the soul that once proudly displayed itself on the streets and in shops like this on the doomed and ridiculous island of Manhattan! Alas, 6 figure consumerism and disneyfied tourism have gentrified nearly everything to the outer Burroughs. But at Bluestockings there is respite. Herein lie the books to stretch your mind. You don't have to agree with any of it, but you have to be aware, acknowledge and accept the shoes of the other. I picked up Radical Hope: Letters of Love and Dissent in Dangerous Times. I would argue that a well versed knowledge of history verifies that there has never been anything but dangerous times. Nonetheless, the authors of these letters are physically, emotionally and mentally threatened on a daily basis. Wake up white people! There are two kinds of people in this world, books can open the mind to righteousness. btw, that is a random photo of a random dude at the store.

::Very nice bookstore with more variety than your average Barn's and Noble. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for queer or feminist literature. The staff was also friendly which is always a bonus.

::One of the greatest activist bookstores still in existence. Great selection and displays from the staff, which are largely volunteers. The cafe serves cheap but likable coffee, and they sometimes have vegan goods in stock. Go here and learn the skill of browsing.
