  We live just up the road in Newburgh, with a Newburgh address. Came in with a 6 year old boy just before closing time who also lives in Newburgh. He picked out a bunch of books for 15 minutes and was so excited to read them at home. He and I went to the counter to open a library card. We brought mail and identification but were told that even though we live in Newburgh, they don't want to check out books to us because we don't live in their specific school district. Our taxes (we rent) don't pay for their library. So they took all the books back from this sweet little boy and sent us on our way. He was so bummed. They had over a thousand books on their shelves and couldn't part with 5 for this little boy. What a bunch of bumholes.

  The people who work there are rather nice and will be able to help you with whatever you need. It's also very quiet - as a library should be.
