::This place is a historical gem... Built in the late 1800s, this was the first library in the Bronx. Not your traditional "lending library", they had multiple reading rooms. For its time, it was controversial for being free and open to all races. The interior is hardly ever open to the public but in speaking to the President Tom Casey, he welcomes visitors and is a total wealth of knowledge. The place is full of historical artifacts and alot of history. "Boardwalk Empire" was filmed here various times.
