    Resident from Bethel

    ::

    This a copy of my-Email that I sent to the corporate office and I never heard back from them I am a resident of 3rd floor at bethel care center , I am writing to report the neglect that we have been through on Friday 5th overnight and Saturday 6th evening shift by the nurse Agbagbuo Emeka called also joe. As I had an insomnia that night I was watching TV programs in the main dining room of the 3rd floor. He -EMEKA- spent the whole night sleeping, he collapsed at the nurse station since the beginning of the shift which 11:30 pm on Friday the 5th . I had seen the other nurses passing Medications, checking on the residents which he never did for the resident in B wing, and he never touched the Medcart until 5:45 am on Saturday morning . At 2:15 am I wheeled myself to the counter of the nurse station, I Yelled his name many times and knocked on the counter in order to wake him up as he was the only one their/ by. I asked him to pass me my food that was in the refrigerator and help me warm it up , as I am in the wheelchair and it is hard for me to rich the microwave . He screamed at me that I should go to bed. So I responded him back that he was not paid to sleep and I was going to report him, andI went back to watch the TV when I told him this sentence- he was not paid to sleep- he left the nurse station , carried a chair and slept behind the ice machine right in front of me while I was watching TV programs .not to mention that he never helped me and I had to wait for the next available nurse aide . (What respect!) It was about 2:20 am. Also I heard the staff when they were talking about Ahmed the Somalian guy on B wing ( I think 317B) that he did not receive his treatment something like feeding or flashing. Also that Emeka was terminated from Vet hospital for resident neglect and was escorted to the door by this same/actual administrator Correy ( I hope I am not mistaking) or maybe another correy. At about 3:20 am the nurses of the floor were trying to wake him up and asking for assistance with Dr.Brown a resident on A wing. He did not move from the Chair until about 5:45 am. Later on, the nurse in charge Angellina came looking for him and I pointed him to her, I reported to her that he was sleeping all night she just stared at me laughing. At about 6:10 am I asked to help me with the blanket and put it around my back because it was called and I was tired and sleepy,he was making fun of me, and asked to thank him first which I always do. He came back to work on Saturday 6th for the Pm shift falling asleep at the medcart. We had the same problem half of the wing did not get their medication specially the feeding tube and the non alert resident including myself I had to fight with him because he was late and he gave me the wrong medication and ask another nurse Valerie for help he refused to give my medictions and was arguing with me I was suppose to get my medication at 5:00 pm the latest was 6: 00 pm unfortunately I did not get them until 8 pm with the help of Valerie . I am assuming he did the same thing for the other non alert residents he is very, very disrespectful and insane. At 8:30 pm right after supper he collaps in front of the TV. Until the night shift Nurses came checking on him if he was breathing or not, He was totally out. They had to waking him up for the shift change . I wanted also to report the complicity of the workers too who failed to report his behavior, misconduct and neglect . they are mandated by the law to report him and protect us . I was begging them to give me his name they were ignoring me. so I had to steel the schedule in order to find out his real name. I will you –as human being to another human being- let you loved one undergo what we went through that weekend. I wish if the cameras on the floor do work, then you will discover the unthinkable mistreatment that we go through from some workers .

Please if you have the loved one and people you care about share comment on this page below I just can’t believe what I see, experience, small ETC.... have a lot to say about this place this place should never exist. I will post my written documentation I gather the last few days. It is heart braking knowing this place is still existed. I was not planing on to post anything until I get all information about this place until today at 4pm the person that called nurse/RN don’t know and have no answer for my question about the person I have in the 2nd floor . Hold on that’s not all this RN/nurse whatever she call herself she couldn’t answer my question so she hung up on my ear. I am only giving one star as I can not select "NO stars" We had the worst experience with this facility. While the staff are kind and doing their best. They are really understaffed and unable to provide the care that they tell you they can give before admission. Cory Glad the Administrator is a pompous and inconsiderate man, with NO compassion for the residents. For everyone's safety and security, this place should be shut down, immediately.

    I would never have believed that such a place existed in our day & age, much less that it was in operation only a mile or so from where I lived. Do not go here or allow anyone you care about to go here under any conditions - the standards of care are beyond atrocious.

    My dad was moved from Red Wing to this facility and I have to say the nurses and staff are so nice. We call and check on our father and they give us a thorough update. My dad is very comfortable and we are pleased with everything they do for our family and father. Caring staff, nice people, and they got the necessary equipment within minutes. Highly recommended!
