::The hotel wasnt run down but seemed to have lower class guests who didn't seem to care about anyone except themselves

::The hotel, a Best Western at 38-05 Hunters Point Ave., started admitting homeless families on Sept. 26, 2017. This hotel just began renting rooms to the City as a FAMILY HOMELESS SHELTER. They do not tell paying customers about this. The neighborhood is very upset. Do not stay here! (According to Shawn Cook, director of program operations for the hotel’s service provider Childrens Community Services, there are currently 57 families living in the Best Western with 128 children. There are 46 female-led households and 11 male-led households residing there.)Juan and Tatiana Lopez, who have lived a block away from the Best Western on 38th Street for 14 years, said they have seen a marked increase in trash around their block, people loitering at late hours and the smell of marijuana. “We have three kids, 8, 10 and 16, all boys, and we don’t want that influence on them,” Tatiana Lopez said. “They’re seeing first hand during the day, we’re smelling it coming into our house.”

::Nice staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms were OK, well cleaned and I didn't have any problems here. The subway was at a 10 minutes walk and there are plenty of delivery services / supermarkets / restaurants nearby.

::Fine hotel for the price. Irma at front desk was very nice and helpful. Would stay again.

::Tiny room with a wet floor and windows screwed shut. Breakfast was a joke and staff was very rude about it. 80 people trying to eat and only 4 tiny frozen omelettes are being made every ten minutes. Breakfast upset me the most, coming from Washington DC the night before, their Best Western had the most amazing breakfast, i guess i was expecting too much.
