  DO NOT HIRE BRUCE MORATH FOR ANYTHING! LONG HISTORY OF FRAUD AND CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. I made the mistake of hiring Bruce Morath of B. Morath Bathroom Remodeling to remodel 2 of my bathrooms. The work seemed OK until I got a home inspection. A home inspector noticed some flaws that got past me. After further investigation, I realized not only was the work done incompetently, BUT BRUCE MORATH IS A FRAUDULENT CONTRACTOR! That's right, he only has a license to TILE WORK! He parades around town like a general contractor but the truth is he has a LENGTHY criminal history for fraudulent contracting. He was charged 3 TIMES IN THE PAST FOR CONTRACTING WITHOUT A LICENSE. This can be verified through public records online at the Las Vegas JUSTICE COURT CRIMINAL RECORDS. Just type in Morath in the search field and it will come up. Anyway, when I confronted Morath about his fraud since he told me "You don't need a permit to convert tubs into showers." I went back and fourth with the building department and Morath before it came clearly evident he was lieing to me and dodging responsibility. When I formally accused him, he shut down his website to conceal his criminal evidence and then denied even working on my house. I had all my records; contract, checks, etc. I won a lawsuit against him since the arbitrator and the contractor's board knew he was a liar. IF BRUCE MORATH HAS DONE ANY WORK AT YOUR HOUSE YOU NEED TO CALL THE CONTRACTOR'S BOARD IMMEDIATELY! IT IS VERY POSSIBLE YOU HAVE UNPERMITTED WORK THAT IS SUB PAR AND FAULTY. Based on my experience, Morath will deny even working at your house but no worries. NV now has a "Residential Recovery Fund" where you can get all the work done at your house free of charge. The Contractor's board will file an investigation and criminally charge him and when he doesn't pay you for the faulty work, they will pay for it and go after him. Please don't hestitate to email me for help as I would love to help anyone nail this criminal.

  I hired B Morath to tear out an existing damaged tile shower bench seat and redo the skirt. He quoted me $983.55 based on the fact the entire bench "had to be rebuilt". When it came time to rebuild, he sent his brother-in-law, who was finished installing a new bench top and side in less than 30 minutes. When I asked why it was so fast, he told me the previous contractor had done the shelf, pan and waterproofing right, the tile was just defective. Nonetheless, there was no credit for the 75% of the "difficult demo" part of the estimate. After about 18 months, the caulk started to crack and I had to have redone. I have no problem with the work, but dealing with the shadiness is something I'd rather avoid.
