::Don't Use This Location If You Can Help It. Look at all the Bad Reviews here and apologies from Management, but they still suck and haven't changed a thing. My husband & I booked a small compact car for a weekend at an exorbitant rate. The Avis office is conveniently located in the parking garage & that's where the convenience ends. We arrived about 20 mins after the reservation time on a Sat. at 10am. The only people there were us, an older couple before us who had gotten a different car they didn't know how to drive (dangerous!), and a guy behind us. Not terribly crowded. We had to take a different car because they were "out of cars" already. It was a different car at no price increase but totally unexpected. They told us we actually have to come EARLY to get the car we already reserved & paid for. We got the LAST CAR. The poor guy behind us in line was out of a car! The car we got was an obnoxious neon blue sports car that was hard for even my husband to drive, because it didn't have the visibility of a regular car, being low & wide. What if we had a big event involving a group, hotel reservations, airline tickets, event tickets or some other non-refundable charges? The staff didn't anticipate any questions, didn't really know the answer to questions, didn't care, and were really lazy. They did not apologize for the inconvenience or seem to be aware that this was terrible service. They could not have cared less. I asked if the new car had Sirius radio installed, because we paid extra for that, they said it did. However, it only had the app installed, it didn't have Sirius Radio service & we went the whole trip without music. Yay. It's up to whoever to manages the place to make sure there are enough cars in the garage. It's NOT the customers responsibility to COME EARLY because THEY RUN OUT OF CARS. That's why we made a reservation. Like a restaurant, they don't give your table to someone else if you've reserved AND paid! Avis- DONT "sincerely apologize" to this review. Get your act together.

::If you make a reservation to return your car at 10pm, make sure you are there at 9:30 because they close early. I arrived at 10 and was told I could not return my car, even though all the employees were still there, because they had already turned off the computers. Apparently this happens all the time. Very unprofessional and rude service. In my experience, Avis charges slightly higher prices and provides better quality service, but this location really misses the mark. It is not worth it! They do a horrible job.

::The first time I rented from this location, 5 minutes after I left the parking lot, I got pulled over on the LIE by a state trooper because of an expired inspection and had to go exchange cars. Then they tried to charge me $10 for exchanging cars. The second time I rented from this place, I reserved an intermediate which they “released” because I came an hour after my reservation time. They tried to tell me my only option was to rent the next size up for an additional $30 a day. Luckily, someone returned a compact while we were trying to figure something out. I rented that one, without a discount for the smaller size, and it smelled like cat pee. I’ve rented from Avis plenty of times and this is by far the worst location for any rental car company I’ve ever used. And I’ve tried them all.

::Customer service was wonderful - big shout out to Carmen who works here. My boyfriend and I rented a car in Montreal after our flight was cancelled to make it back home to NYC for work the next day. After an extremely long travel day, we got to this Avis location and found out that the man in Montreal rented us a Budget car under the Avis name, so it was not returnable at this location. Carmen stepped up and took care of everything for us, making sure the car was returned to Budget the next day.
