The school receives a lot of funding from the suburban school districts every year. It's reputation of being a trashy school has definitely changed over the years as the district has been able to update their buildings and hire more staff.

I don't know the school but I read an article that now they have compost bins which I think is a super super idea.

I have been here as an exchange student in the class of 08. It was the best time in my life I had here. Nice people and very nice teachers! I will always remember the classes in AHS! Keep Austin weird!

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the teaching at AHS. The lessons are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the notes will go over a typical student's head. There’s also Mr. Mecci's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his personality- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The students understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these teachings, to realize that they’re not just informative- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike AHS truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humor in Mecci's existential catchphrase “Shut the hell up,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Amy Taylor's genius wit unfolds itself on their notebooks. What fools.. how I pity them. And yes, by the way, i DO have a Maroons tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It’s for the ladies’ eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they’re within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid.
