::You know what I've deliberated on writing this review for far too long. I brought my 2006 Audi A4 in to get diagnosed because it had a horrible noise when it cranked and accelerated but would go away when driving or idling. I thought I should bring it to this shop since they specialize in VAG products and would find the problem immediately. I signed a waiver to approve a diagnostic that John I'm presuming is the owner handed to me. He said he would call me and let me know what the culprit was when he found it. About half an hour later he said come back in we have serious problem. When I get there the engine is completely open, coils and coil wiring were out and spark plugs were exposed, various hoses were pulled open, I was fine with this since I agreed to it. My problem was John insisted on buying a new 2.0T TFSI engine because mine was "no good" he just pointed at some metal saying it's bad and that the engine was done. The problem ended up being the heat shield that was constantly clanking against the rear of the engine. As I expected my Audi did not need a new engine since it was still drivable and perfectly functional which are characteristics that a bad engine doesn't have. Avoid this shop it's practices were shady.

::I take a lot of pride in maintaining my car in pristine conditions. It took me 3 years to find a special edition Audi S4 B6 convertible so being a rare car and... a German car finding an honest, cost effective, and specialized mechanic in NYC was a mission. It has been a dream to work with Audi Auto Repair artfully lead by John (master mechanic). I have been bringing my car there twice already and I could not be happier with their professionalism, no-bullshit, zero hustle, accommodating service, comfortable pricing, excellent quality of work, quick turn around, and more importantly the feeling of partnership. John and Oren have been able to quickly identify issues, quickly fix them, while providing updates all alone the way. These guys REALLY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING and they do it QUICK, deliver QUALITY WORK and without up-selling you on services or repairs that you do not need. I would not trust my car, time and money to anyone else.

::My clutch started slipping upstate at Harriman State Park and I nursed my car as far as it would take me. I was hoping to make it to my regular buy in Brooklyn but downtown on the FDR, the clutch finally gave in. I got a tow from a good guy, a great conversationalist from Israel, who brought me to Audi Auto Repair. I spoke to Josh at Audi, who was another straight shooter, who told me to leave it over the weekend with him (they were just about to close.) Josh called me Monday morning with an estimate and they turned the car around in a day. Quick service, not time wasting or delays ... I was on my way. Having your car repaired (unless you are a car geek and know your car inside out) is based on trust. Clutches are not cheap but my intuition tells me that these people are telling me like it is, I can deal with that.

::STAY AWAY. These people are thieves, they remove parts from your car to repair other cars. They charge for parts that has not been installed and cannot show you your old parts. Don't be fooled, the good reviews were posted by the owners themselves. This has been revealed by people who worked there.
