::This restaurant is in an old building in an old neighborhood in uptown New Orleans on Louisiana Ave. near the river. The food is their take on New Orleans food and is creative and tasty. Their gumbo could be q little more spicy but may be it was just that day. The triple tail was really done to perfection. Desserts are very good with a generally good selection. The wine list is a little short but there are good selections. Service is really good and everyone tries hard to make sure you have a great experience and a great meal.

::When I first had Atchafalaya in 2009, I was wowed by the flavor and food. But being newer to New Orleans at that time, I do not believe that I had a total appreciation for this establishment. Having returned many times over time, I can vouch for the ingenuity and creativity of ingredients that hold true to some traditions while deviating from standard fare. The quality is bar none and the service is very good! I recommend this for special occasions and smaller group gatherings of less than 10.

::So much fun! This is a smaller venue that can get packed up fairly quickly, but don't let that turn you away because the crowd was fun. They had a live jazz band there on the weekend, and it really lifts people spirits. We went for Brunch and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend their Shrimp and Grits creation and make sure you have an appetite. They had two bartenders that were quick, efficient, and creative; So be sure to try on of their craft cocktails. Or, you might enjoy their Bloody Mary bar where you can create your own drink. I would plan to spend some time at the restaurant, and make sure to place your reservations. The food comes out in a timely manner and the wait staff was very attentive, but you'll want to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.

::Pricey but big portions! Got the pork chop and it was easily 2 full meals for me. It was tasty but other items fell a bit flat (the fish, cornbread, greens). Service was incredibly slow; on a Tuesday night it took over an hour to get our food. Wouldn't recommend this as a good place to bring young kids nor if you're not ok with having a 2+ hour long dinner.

::Nice restaurant, upscale, slightly off Magazine street. Food and atmosphere were great, focused on local cuisine - different from the fast/pub food focus on Magazine street. Pricey but worth the splurge for a special occasion like a romantic date. Very limited parking in the area. Reservations recommended.
