  I brought in a very oversized painting that no other framing service could handle. Carolyn was very helpful in finding the exact glass, frame, and matting that complimented the painting beautifully without taking too much away from it. The final product came out to over 7 feet in size, and Carolyn and Paul were very helpful installing the piece even though we didn't ask for installation when we arranged for delivery. They were super helpful, and I definitely trust them to do right by their customers.

  I would call this place the "Soup Nazi" of framers. First off, the photo you see is NOT the Art Barn as it is today. I had work done at the Art Barn years ago, in the location google shows in it's photo's, and this is NOT the location and has not been for over 4 years. But not only the location has changed, the service has as well. I visited The Art Barn with 4 original pieces that needed to be framed. What I found was beyond comprehension. The framers wife is now running the business and was nothing short of rude and belligerent. While I tried to explain what I wanted, she continued to talk over me and ignore all my questions. She did like to hear herself talk and seemed to delight in telling stories about past customers and artists that didn't know what they were doing with framing. Apparently, everyone is an idiot EXCEPT for this loudmouth and her husband the framer who is in her words a true "artist". After reading another post on here from Natalie, I had to echo her assessment of The Art Barn. This woman does behave like a shark and uses her mouth to double talk her way out any meaningful exchange you could wish to have as a customer. If you like loudmouth, aggressive, belligerent, salespeople in a small dark mess of an establishment, then The Art Barn is for you. I however, took my paintings and money somewhere else. All I could think as I left was God help the framer that is married to this woman!

  I have never encountered a more manipulative and dominating small business owner. I felt completely taken advantage of here. The two different signs inside the store indicating "Customers who change their minds will be charged $30" made sense to me after I left having been intimidated into agreeing to pay more than double what I wanted to for framing of a small, cheap print. When I called only hours later to agree to pay $30 and reclaim my print unframed, I was told the work had already been done (despite the owner assuring me it the earliest it could be done was a week or so later): it was obvious I'd been marked as a rube, and they'd done the work quickly, so as to charge me the overpriced fee I'd agreed to. I understand custom framing requires an expert hand; what made me feel so sad and disappointed was the owner's poor communication. Our encounter felt sharky and confusing, in the manner of barter at an open-air market. As an introverted writer and art collector, I left feeling angry at being denied the clarity and trust-building I've come to expect from local businesses in Ossining. Shame on The Art Barn.

  Great service and excellent quality work! I have used the Art Barn for large projects (30+ pieces) and small projects. Every time they deliver as promised and accommodated our timeline. We get lots of compliments about their work and tell everyone how great Art Barn is!

  I can’t recommend the staff and the selection at Art Barn enough! Their selection is fantastic, and their taste is superb! Maybe even more importantly, they’re very easy to work with - friendly, helpful, and exceedingly patient. The finished product, of course, is always impeccable! I don't go anywhere else for my valuable, and my not so valuable, photographs and other art pieces.
