::My son who is a quiet cool nyc kid with long hair had a great experience with Russel. Russell was professional, engaging and worked to connect with my son while taking out many matted knots and treated him like an adult. My son is very happy with the outcome, still has long hair and all of his friends commented on how good his hair looks. 12 year old boys speak the truth! Samantha was very accommodating while understanding our time constraints and went out of her way to accommodate us, even switching another client’s appointment time so we could be seen by Russel as she thought he would a good fit. My son will happily return as a steady client. Art & Autonomy is a jewel of a place!

::Russell and the team were endlessly mindful, professional, and most of all fun! Each person present has a true passion for what they do and it was a privilege to experience their commitment firsthand. The environment was lighthearted and focused, with quality service and results that were totally unique; catered not only to fit the customer's needs but executed through the stylist's expertise :) Truly a one of a kind experience!

::Small intimate sleek salon in Soho. Service was efficient, professional but still friendly. It was so relaxing especially with my glass of wine. 🍷 I wasn’t sure whether to trim my hair or cut it shorter. After discussing with the stylist Noelle, I decided to go for a short cut for the upcoming summer. I am glad I did. The finished product makes me look sassy. I love it. ❤️❤️❤️

::As a guy, the vast majority of my life I have gone to equivalent of supercuts, sports cuts, and many other sub $20 in-an-out type "salons." This is because I thought hair was simple and that was the only thing worth paying. Until I met Jeffrey at Art and Autonomy. What I went for was a "haircut" and what I got was a hair experience. The staff were incredibly courteous and professional and the space itself is warm and beautiful. Instead of asking me how I want my hair and then just getting to it, Jeffrey asked how I normally do my hair, and then made recommendations based on that style and what better fit my face and head shape - something I had literally never considered once before. He walked me through what he was doing, why he was doing it, and then spent time with me on how to style it day-to-day once I leave. He recommended products that worked with the style that gave me the exact look and feel I wanted out of my hair. As a doctor, how my hair looks can influence how my patients feel about me (which seemed ridiculous at first, but now I know it's true), so it's important to take it seriously and have it done right. Jeffrey and his team at Art and Autonomy are artists and can make you look and feel more professional than you ever imagined you could.

::I had a fantastic time at Art + Autonomy. Haven’t had this great an experience at a hair salon in a long time. I had a cut with Ocean, an apprentice, and she gave me an amazing new style and new fringe. She was fun, confident, at ease, and super chill and she talked me through the steps she was taking. She taught me how to style my new cut, let me know she’s available for bang trims, and had her supervisor check her work at major steps of the process which made me feel even more at ease. One of my friends asked if I felt I got more ‘Art’ or more ‘Autonomy’ and I have to say both! 😂 Great apprentice system, fantastic salon, amazing stylists. Can’t wait to come back!
