  Cops over here not there to help, I lose traction on snow last night, I call a towing. They told me they will b there in 2 hours . The cup make call to cancel coz they can't wait for two hours. He told me he got one in a second I was in I81 s mm 61. Well they tow truck came after 4 hours and charged me $450 in two minutes

  I usually never post anything negative about the police as my step father served as a detective in the Bronx for 20 years. Today I was parked out front waiting for my girlfriend and her daughter. The police officer told me to move out of the parking spot as I was I saw them walking out so I waited the 5 seconds to allow them to come in then move. Your officer stops in the middle of the road and waits for me to pull up. As we did he said that not to worry you special and dont have to follow an order and was nasty to both my girlfriend and I. I understand that job is stressful but that is NOT how a police officer should conduct a traffic stop

  A few years ago I was in northern Virginia. Being very low on money & unwilling to do illegal acts, I unfortunately had to sleep in my car. I was parked near the Aurora Hills Branch library, at a parking meter. Late one night, 2 officers, 1 male and 1 female both seemingly around 40 years old, woke me up. The male seemed to be training the female, since he was the main person who spoke to me & he sometimes gave her instructions. After the knock on the window and flashlight inspection, I was asked to give my I.D. (or license and reg.) and that was tolerable…something I had experienced from police officers before. However, the male cop proceeded to treat me like I was a suspected criminal…even though I was respectful (“yes sir/ma’am”), calm, cooperative, coherent, had not been drinking, and I do not use drugs. He said things like “I see u were in an accident…did u REPORT it?” The very old car that I had recently bought used had lots of pre-existing body damage…yet he posed the question as if I was not only the one who was in an accident but also a dishonest person who for some reason wouldn't report an accident. I told him that it was like that when I bought it used. He also told me to step out of the car (first time in my life that I had been told that…& it sounded like something that would be said to prepare to arrest someone so I felt worried even though I knew I hadn't done a crime). As I reached down to grab my shoes which had been off & guide my feet into them, the male officer asked in a very serious tone what I was reaching for…as if he suspected a weapon. I was not grabbed at or anything upon exiting the car, but it seemed like a completely irrelevant & even bullying aspect of the encounter. I was told to give the name & # of my work supervisor…I worried that my housing situation would be the latest dumb office gossip. In the end I was told I couldn't sleep there & I was allowed to leave without a ticket. It seemed that the cops wanted to make me feel humiliated & utterly controlled. I should not be treated with less respect than someone who has more money, or is an older age, a different color, etc. There are trends in society regarding crime and mannerisms (of course if one neighborhood or just color label is policed more than another there may be more arrests in 1 versus the other even with equal crime), but trends do not automatically define an INDIVIDUAL. Once in a while, I have even experienced cops in other parts of Virginia slowing down to ride alongside me and/or repeatedly look into my car. What made me a suspicious driver versus the other drivers? Being a female? Having brown skin? The male & female cops mentioned above were both “white” by the way. Baseless bias is not what I call serving or protecting. I have also met some outstanding - neutral or even friendly - cops. But please don't train cops to be biased & intimidating…frustrating people who are quite law-abiding citizens. Please monitor police actions more closely. Thank you. Update: 2/8/2018 Ofc. Green who had an Ethiopian look pulled me over for a legitimate reason but gave me major attitude as soon as I acknowledged the reason & told him I was already ticketed for the vehicle issue & had an upcoming court date as the previous cop told me to say. I laughed, saying I didnt need a ticket on top of that one. He repeatedly said I was being "defensive"&said it puts cops on edge. Said he didn't SAY I was getting a tkt. Said he didn't pull me over for NOTHING as if I implied that. It feels bad to be stereotyped. Possibly the worst cop I've met! He flat out assumed I was an overreacting cop-hater (too much TV?!) He used a fed up tone+really bad comments "U clearly hate cops" "U have a bad attitude but I'M a nice person" "DONT get out of the car" repeatedly as if I tried to or was a threat or criminal. "It's up to MY discretion to give u an extra ticket for it...I could give 4 tickets." I wish he would have simply done so & been nice instead. He treated me like I was loud & irrate! He-is-psycho! THANK U OFFICER STALTER! ♡

  Terrible. Involved in a what was a hit and run and was told there was nothing that could be done despite having the person’s license plate.

  I love all the negative reviews posted here. Try taking your face out of your cell phone before crossing the street and you might not get run over. Also try obeying an officer's direction and you won't end face down in the snow. Arlington is the most professional, tolerant and well trained police department you will find anywhere. Try living somewhere else and see the difference.
