::One of the neatest places in downtown KC- this local gem is a taproom, restaurant, AND a butcher shop! They have a huge selection of beers, although they do not update their drink selection frequently, so make sure you pick a few beers you want to try in case one is out. In true butcher shop fashion, the menus are covered in cowhide. The location is great, right next to a streetcar stop and it is nice and quiet compared to Power and Light venues, there is street parking available on Main, and there are patio seats outside in the front (see pic for the view looking north!). Bathrooms are downstairs, where you can see some of their herbs growing and meat salting. The food menu is great because there are fewer choices and many of them are based on the meats they sell. Try their sausage or one of their burgers.

::The steak is delicious! Local grass fed beef! Not only is the meat local, the vegetables are as well. They also grow the herbs on-site! The steak was about $5/ ounce but oh so worth it! I also had the roasted Brussels sprouts. I wish I could remember our server's name. He was knowledgeable and attentive.

::Awesome place to go to for FRESH steaks! Before going here I didn't realize that it was a farm to table restaurant where all their food is locally sourced from butchers. I went here post m boyfriend's graduation and all the food was delicious (I had the pepper steak tips - they were perfect). We just drank wine with our meals, but they had a HUGE drink list. We will definitely be back!

::I decided to go to Anton's steak house because of the review rating and the location. I ordered a 14 oz rare rib-eye which was served raw. The steak was less than an inch thick and looked like it was steamed. So I requested that they sear the steak a little bit. The steak tasted good but I feel that the price was not justified.

::I typically think of a sandwich as bread with meat. At Anton's, sandwiches are meat with bread. This is good. Think of the bread as a disposable fixture rather than a staple of the sandwich. I got the roast beef sandwich. It was fine overall. We also had the mac and cheese but the recipe had changed and it was very disappointing. I just wasn't 5 star impressed with the price/value. That said, I didn't try a steak... Those sound great from reading other reviews but I couldn't bankroll one today.
